How much does hedge cutting cost?
Hedge cutting typically starts from £80 for a small domestic hedge and can rise to £400+ for large estate hedges or annual maintenance contracts. We price by length, height, species and access.
When should I cut my hedges?
Most hedges benefit from a main trim in late summer (August–September) once the nesting season is over. Formal hedges like box and yew can also be lightly trimmed in late spring.
Do you check for nesting birds?
Yes. Under the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981 it is illegal to disturb nesting birds. We check every hedge before cutting between March and August and reschedule if active nests are found.
Will you take all the clippings away?
Yes — all clippings are chipped on-site or removed for composting at our licensed waste facility. You don't pay extra for waste removal.
How tall a hedge can you cut?
We cut hedges of any height — from 4ft garden privet to 30ft+ leylandii using elevated platforms (MEWPs) where required.
Do you offer regular maintenance?
Yes, we offer scheduled maintenance contracts (twice-yearly is most popular). Regular trims keep hedges denser, healthier and significantly cheaper than a one-off restoration cut.
